Position Summary:
The Sales Associate plays a vital role in creating an exceptional customer experience and delivering on Ace Hardware’s promise of being “The Helpful Place.”This is a hands-on, customer-focused position that requires a willingness to learn, solve problems, and assist customers throughout their shopping journey. From welcoming customers and identifying project needs to recommending products, processing transactions, assembling merchandise, and delivering products to customers’ homes, no two days are the same.Sales Associates work across multiple areas of the business and are often the first and last impression a customer has of Moison Ace Hardware. Whether helping a customer find the right paintbrush, loading mulch into a vehicle, assembling a grill, filling a propane tank, or delivering a snowblower, team members are expected to provide friendly, knowledgeable, and dependable service at every interaction.The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, takes pride in helping others, thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Customer Service & Sales
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional, and timely manner.
- Engage customers to understand their project needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
- Deliver exceptional customer service that reflects Moison Ace Hardware’s Helpful Service standards.
- Build customer relationships through product knowledge, problem-solving, and follow-through.
- Resolve customer questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
- Maintain awareness of current promotions, advertisements, and seasonal products.
Store Operations:
- Operate point-of-sale systems and accurately process customer transactions.
- Answer and direct phone calls while providing outstanding customer service.
- Receive, stock, organize, and merchandise products throughout the store and warehouse.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe sales floor, warehouse, and outdoor areas.
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking, counting, and inventory accuracy.
- Support store opening, closing, and daily operational tasks as assigned.
- Work environment includes both indoor and outdoor conditions year-round
Product Services:
- Mix paint and assist customers with paint selection and project planning.
- Fill propane tanks in accordance with company policies and safety procedures.
- Assemble merchandise including grills, snow blowers, outdoor power equipment, and seasonal products.
- Assist customers with loading purchases into vehicles.
- Perform local product deliveries and customer service calls as needed.
Teamwork & Development:
- Develop and maintain product knowledge across multiple departments including hardware, paint, lawn and garden, grilling, power equipment, tools, and seasonal merchandise.
- Collaborate with coworkers to ensure a smooth shopping experience and efficient store operations.
- Participate in training programs and ongoing learning opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support business needs.
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Massachusetts DOT Medical Card Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout a scheduled shift (8-10 hours).
- Ability to regularly lift up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds.
Preferred:
- Previous retail, cashiering, hardware, home improvement, landscaping, construction, or customer service experience.
- Experience operating equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment.
- Familiarity with hardware, tools, lawn and garden products, paint, grilling, or outdoor power equipment.
